  1. Does anyone here use them? I see that DVD's on Tap are offering a month free to get people started. Are these stores any good? Any ripoff stories? Horror stories? Comments?

Ive used that store for the last six months, and have the silver membership.
    They're first rate.
On the very rare occasion disk is unplayable they send you a replacement (or next one in your queue if it's not immediately ready) and then delay your next payment by three days.
    First class.
If you're thinking of joining please PM me, if you don't mind) they offer a scheme where recommendations gain a months free membership, although on my scheme I need to recommend three people and haven't had any yet
But yes, go for it, they're great.

  3. 8) Yes dvdsontap are petyy good, but for me there are not enough good films around to make it worth while, except maybe twice a year.
As more and more classics and series come out on dvd then it might be a year long thing. Remember tho .. you only get the film, no extras at all, this may be important to you!

    I don't understand this.
If you want the extra's then if they arent on disk one then add disk two to your queue.
If you go to blockbuster you don't get a two disk hire, do you?

I don't understand this either although I would like more choice as to TV shows and old movies.
    Is this what you meant?
dvdsontap do have a massive choice, but I find they're a little slow with anything not considered a major film.
If it's not considered 'hip to hire' then expect to wait or worse still, don't expect to hire it.

  5. 8) some people might expect to get both discs when renting. Also they do not always stock the 2nd disc. Yes I mean the actual films available, I dont go for most of the mainstream films, a lot of what I want isnt yet available. Also I cant afford it 12 months of the year so I wait till there are quite a few films I want to watch. Also they will have better availability when they are no longer "hot"..

    twice a year
for two months out of twelve...

    Ah-ha!
I see what you mean, I think we share the same opinion, and probably the ethic that the latest, multi-million pound movies aren't always the best!

  7. Will, I'll give you a shout in a week or so. I am mainly interested in TV series rather than films.

wow, that looks like a great service! i'm intruiged! with my local shop costing £2.50 a pop, and only have releases for ~6 months, and -no- TV series, this place looks much better! even at 1 disc a week i'd be breaking even. how do delivery times look will? is it first class, second class? three day?
shame, they don't carry the extended LOTR:FOTR, so i guess they won;t get extended LOTR:TTT

Will, i'll PM as and when i want to sign up !

I'm on the silver service for £14.99 a month if you watch them the day you get them and manage to get them back same day's post (my wife works from home and watches them same day sometimes and then posts them back).
If you do this with all of them (unlikely, I know) you'll average about twelve a month.
The £9.99 a month you'll average about six.
All postage is included in these two options, first class.
If anyone else is interested I'b be grateful if they'd let me refer them, PM me for details.
I'll remember and try return the favour in the future somehow
    Thanks,
    Will
