What 4x media has given you the best results with the Pioneer A05?

I use the ICE branded printable 4x speed discs, no problems and never had a coaster (burning with RecordNow Max).

Is there a difference between the printable and non-printable ones? I've had a few coasters from the silver tops (drive wouldn't even recognize that the disc was inserted).

  5. 4X Princo Inkjet Printable DVD-R @ 82p per disk. Had no coasters at all from these...Well past the 100 mark. Always burnt with Nero. Also used the 4X ICE branded discs without any trouble.
    Thinking of trying.
    Mirror Printable (4X) DVD-R @ 69p per disc!
This is the printable version of the Mirror Platinum DVD-R disc. Any one used any of these ?
    Burner is a Pioneer A05
    Players to many to mention...
    Not bothered by small problems...

  6. Don't forget that just because it burns on your choice of recorder, it doesn't mean it will play back on your target device. What makes media "the best" is a double edged sword - just because you can write to it at full speed (which is what I guess you mean), doesn't mean it's going to be compatible afterwards.

    agreed ......
i always run nero and check for bad sectors, then make sure it starts in my dvd player...
so far nero has been correct 100% of the time... if theres bad sectors in on the disc then it'll either freeze, or pixelate badly
