I just got my new DVD burner (plextor PX-708A) And I've got a movie on dvd. But it's not playing smoothly on either my standalone DVD or xbox. So I looked up the encode info. It's in 6-7mb mpg2 and 1.5mb PCM audio. So I just want to re-encode the audio. I don't know why they did encode it this way in the firstplace. But anyway. Is there one simple way to do this and keeping the menus etc?

ps: the original will fit on a standard 4.7GB disc
    Yeah... dude

Err because they had to ! PCM , AC3 are some of the DVD audio standards.
    6-7mb I will extrapolate to a bitrate of 6000-7000 - normal.

Reencoding audio will most likely not fix your problem.
Does DVD play smoothly in your DVD rom ? Possible your stanalone/Xbox has issues with the media.

It works fine in the PC. The original disc has the same issues on my dvd and xbox. I made a copy a cpl of day's ago and the same thing accured.
I just wanted to try it out. Because the DVD in computer is capable to feeding it right so it runs smooth. This is the first time ever I've seen a DVD with PCM audio... No motionpictures what I've seen.
    Yeah... dude
