I am thinking of buying one of the above players. I know it says it can play VCDS but can it play SVCDS?

It only plays strictly standard VCDs. If you make your own standard VCD's, the TMPGEnc template needs to be tweaked ... Do a search on Napa in the forum to learn about the entire history of discussion on this topic.
