The number one way is to use Avisynth to frameserve a video to TMPGEnc. The advantage of frameserving is that you can apply video filters without creating a temporary file. This saves time and hard disk space.
Also, if TMPGEnc cannot open a file, you may still be able to encode it using a frameserver."A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct."
