Why not just rip it, in file mode?

The "layer break" is a silly term that describes what happens when the laser jumps from one layer to the other. It's not an actual encoded thing on the disc, just a marker, so don't sweat it.

Stitch will fit nicely on a single DVD, no problems and no layer breaks.

I personally just used AnyDVD, and put the disc in and hit "copy", but I can't recall whether it was Nero or RNM, one of them barfed on the "dual layer won't fit on a DVD+R" issue but the other didn't.

  3. There was a tread on this a while back (most people refused to believe that a DVD9 disc with less than 4GB actuallu existed). I just use DVD Decrypter to rip ISO and burn. This worked for me, but for whatever reason some other posters had problems. If you want to be really safe:

    1. Rip full DVD in file mode
    2. Run through DVD Shrink no compression (or edit with IFOEdit)
    3. Burn generated VIDEO_TS

It's a short movie too. I loved the first one and bought this the day it came out, but it's clearly setup to run as two 30 min eps as part of a new Disney TV series.

I backed up this movie, works fine. It's been played 5 times, I didn't edit any files in it, everything burnt well and plays back perfectly...I'm still scratching my head as to why its a DVD-9 when the size is less than that of the average DVD-5, but it doesn't seem to matter at all when backing it up.
