Looks like you used TMPGenc DVD Author.
Well, you need to do it again because that is where you add menus and chapters. back up one step

You have to have all those files in a folder called
    VIDEO_TS (all caps)
and then you use a burning program to write that folder as data
    to DVD

I strongly reccommend you play that folder with WinDVD or something
similar first to see if it works

  6. Don't forget the empty AUDIO_TS (all caps) folder as well.

Can I ask an even simpler question. What did you start with as far as your source material goes.

First you get a DVD burner and stick a Blank DVD in it
Then you get a DVD burning program
Then you put the VIDEO_TS folder in the burning program
Then you click START or GO or DOIITNOW or whatever applies

You might look in some HOWTO guides to your left

  12. you know what FOO yes your right i should have looked in the guides and found out, but through experience sometimes the more "easier" solutions can sometime work out to be the trickiest........ i just didn't know where to go....... it been a long hard slog for me to get this far!!

my source was divx...... so i decoded...... run through virtualdub, correcting the frames, used TMPGEnc to get my audio and mv2 files, corrected AC3 file with AC3fix.......... put it all back together to get where i am now.........

i'm not so stupid, maybe just lazy like a few others that post and do not look before i ask, my apologies.........

I do have funny enough, a DVD burner...... it was one expensive cup of tea holder if you ask me....... that is what is for ain't it?

    OK
but we have to finish this thread in our lifetime.
I know you're not stupid , you managed to get DVD folder set out of Xvid
    which is better than lots.

Did you get a burning program with your burner ?
    Nero, RNM, etc ?
If not get one ! Record Now Max is good.

Fire it up, set Data Mode , drag your VIDEO_TS folder to it , and hit GO

before you do that get WinDVD and play the VIDEO_TS folder

  14. Thanks FOO, i used Nero to burn but read that this may cause problems with dvd's reading the disk? i tryed to play it on my chipped PS2 but it says Disk Error, still yet to check it on a stand alone.

The information you gave me actually helped , i know it was a stupid question....... it was quite obvious what i had to do when i looked......

And i checked it with Windvd and it worked o.k. Is this a good program to check all the files before burning?

And one more question..... what is the Data Mode? i have not come across this, EVER? i didn't set it before burning, should i have?

Many thanks for the info....... it did help.

It dates from ancient history .... Cds
Either you wanted to put music on a CD or Files.
    The disk format was different
if you wrote a WAV on a CD as DATA it wouldn't play in the players
