    Also any ideo what to expect for pricing? I'm thinking of buying a 8X DVD burner but not if I have to pay $3 each for the media

    4x +R is the only media you can burn at 8x right now. I would be a little cautious about the reliability of the media after being burned at 8x though when it is rated at 4x.
