How can I burn a VCD that my stand a lone dvd player will?

Hi,

I had a sony dvd players. It will not support DVD-R, DVD+R, or CD-R. However, I still can burn a DVD to a DVD-R and my sony plays it very will. It will play DVD+R also. But I can not make it play on a CD-R. Can anyone help me how to burn a VCD that my Sony can play? Thank you so much for all your help.

I take it that you have an older Sony unit then... as newer ones can play CD-R discs just fine.

The older Sony players were very fussy about CD-R discs... I suggest that you experiment with different brands of CD-R to see if you can find one that works. Alternatively, try different CD-RW discs as these tend to work better in such players.
