Hope Someone can help !!!
I recently had to reinstalled all of my software and since I have been having problems with IC7 pdi file being to be for the DVD disk. I am using DVD decrepter and IC 7.0.3.140. In the past the setup worked fine. I am ripping the dvd to my HD and then durning to the DVD, however the file size after the rip is about 7 GB, for LOTR and 6Gb for another backup. I am using automatic config in IC7. When I go to burn the DVD the error messages is that their is not enought space. The O/S is win XP Poro. I have been able to make a backup copy of Stitch Movie, however on everything else the pdi files are to big.

sorry,
i cant help you with the prob but im having exactly the same difficulties with LOTR, i have tried several different methods with IC7 even in customizing the size right down to a very small output. i ALWAYS get a .pdi file od 5.91GB every time. the second (extras dvd) backed up fine.
I would be interested if anyone knows whats going on
BTW i borrowed my LOTR dvd to a friend and he used the same methods as me and the same programs and gave me back a DVD-r with LOTR on it - it worked fine for him? -

I was backing up LOTR last couple of days and I encountered a somewhat similar problem. Don't want to get into what I've tried but I finally successfuly made a backup of the disc.
Here's what I did :
I ripped the movie only VOB's with DVDDecrypter onto the hard drive, and removed (deleted)everything (ifo,bup..etc.) except the VOBs files. Then I used IFoEdit95 to re-created new ifo's plus the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. I then used IC7 to customize the movie size to 4.3g and record it onto another folder. (Using IC7's HD to HD function).
Then result is perfect except the subtitles were in black. I found out I have to make a few changes with ifoedit and get the color of the text in white, which you can find the way to do it by searching on this site.
Hope this helped.
BTW, I defrag the HD after every operation before doing the next step, and I had AnyDVD turned on the whole time. -
I am not sure what version the rest of you have because only the wcrg stated which one he had, so I guess this is directed to you. Go to their web site and download the latest version and try it again, it should fix the problem.

I can watch the film in the pc but I cannot transfer the content files to dvd-r. When the instant copy reads about 90% of files, I receive a message saying the reading was not successful try again. Could anybody help? Thanks.

I don't know what guide you followed but here's my process.
DVD Decrypter - mode>file, rip entire DVD
WinDVD - play DVD from folder to make sure it ripped OK (it always has)
IC7 (with the hidden settings) - set everything like I want it
PDI2ISO - to convert the pdi files from IC7 to an image file
Daemon tools - to check the dvd from the ISO to make sure it is ok before I burn it.
Burn with Decrypter.
As to the file size problem with IC7, add the file sizes up yourself. For example 3.87 GB = 3870 MB make sure you keep decimal points in their proper place. Once totaled divide the total by 1024 and that will be your final size of your DVD to go on your DVD-R. Usually around 4.35-4.37 on the IC7 green adn red bar.
Do not burn with IC7.
