hi,
could you advice what is the maximum file size of DivX on one 80 min disc. That means what is the required space that I should leave for closing the disc.

Max 703 Mb (700Mb disk) with divx. (unless you can prove me wrong !)
Is possible to 'overburn' when doing VCD to 800+Mb depending on burner/media.
80 minutes is 80 minutes ..........is 80 minutes.......
You can fit more "content" on the disk if you decrease the bitrate

You could try this :
Mode 2 Form 2
Sectors contain 2324 bytes of user data per sector, with no ECC are are suitable only for data where errors can be concealed (eg audio or video data).
Never tried it , cannot vouch for it.
