First of all sorry if this has been posted in any way, i did try a search but it says its been 'temporary disabled'.

I was wondering if anyone has used the media from the address posted below, ive read bad stuff about bulkpaq in general but thought maybe these are ok cause they have a white circle in the middle which means they are ok.... no?

Anyway thanks if anyone knows anything about these particualr disks good or bad.

Oh before i forget, i was considering these for PS2 backups as well as dvd movies.

Northstar, I only buy bulk media.
Never do I buy over priced brand name media.
I love the CD-Rs in the 100 pack, shrink wrapped, silver for $19.95!!!
Evil flourishes when good men do nothing.

  7. Did you try them out after all?

All reviews I've read about them have been that they are good and everyone has said they ended up with 0 coasters 8)

I'm thinking of getting some for my NEC 1300A DVD-RW, but I dunno if they're compatible. I think I will try persuading Bulkpaq to send me a couple of samples

Ah, I just found this... http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?t=15115
So looks like they should work fine for me

  8. Spicuzza, if You haven't noticed, Bulkpaq is media brand (sold mostly in bulk too), also named Bulkcrap among users.

Actually there have been some patches not too bad, but 1 year is enough even for these disks to start skiping on set-top DVD player (gen 3.2). So these disks are worth a name, given to them and only useable IMHO for data.

Havent got them yet, but from all accounts the ones with a clear circle in the centre are the ones to watch out for, if they arrive and have a white circle im going to risk them.

  10. Let us know how it goes :P

For now I'm just gonna go with a pack of Datawrite discs, which I know are pretty good. http://www.ukdvdr.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_DVD_R.html#a81 99p each

    Hi

    Look at the media codes.
Most Datawrite are Princo!!! Some are Ritek.
They have the same code as Bulkpaq Orange!! (W.P.Princo)

I'm just about to buy a burner (Pioneer 106) and have spent the last couple of days looking through this forum.
There are so many mixed reviews about DVD media.

The only safe bet seems to be Ritek disks. Although they are more expensive.

I'm having real trouble trying to decide what 4x dvd-r to buy.

    Helpppppppppppp

Well ive only wrote to two of these discs at the moment, one a backup of a ps2 game and the other a backup of a film (Solaris), they both burnt fine and both work fine, neither are over 4gigs though so i still dont know for sure how they will work past 4gigs.

If all else fails i can use them as ps2 backup discs as most ps2 games are rarely over 4gigs (i imagine).

Well from a recent bad experience with Ebuyer UK i suggest avoiding them like the plague, i will never trust or use this company again, if you have a problem your gonna be up shit creek without a paddle.

    AVOID!
