  1. does anybody know witch one purduces better quality and is faster to encode.

  2. Historically, Panasonic produced better quality video (for VCD standard MPEG-1) and LSX was much faster.

    I don't know if this is still the case for the newest version of LSX (Panasonic hasn't been updated in a while) but it is still probably true.

    Also, there may be a big difference in quality between the plug-in and stand-alone versions of LSX for MPEG-1 (at least there used to be).

    Panasonic is better at mpeg-1 but doesn't do mpeg-2. LSX will be faster. Speed/quality/reliability... pick any two

    but it is a bit outdated....the new lsx is a bit better but not as good as panasonic.
