    hi, i have bought a pioneer dvd burner for my pc and was wondering if anyone could give me a few pointer's on how to install it ...Im a complete novice when it comes to pc. ....i've got a cd writer slotted in my pc .......Is it just a matter of taking out cd writer and slotting in the dvd burner in it's place....any info would be greatly appreciated regard's theted.

  2. Yes that is all you need to do, open the box unplug the cd burner and then plug the same leads into the back of your dvd burner in the exact same places.

    thank's for quick reply harcoreruss...What's the best software for that particular burner and can u recommend any disk's...regard's theted.

    You may have to change between slave or master or cable select.

    Also make sure to check the jumper settings on the dvd writer, make them the same as the cd writer.

    My writer and dvd-rom are on the same cable. I have them set to cable select. Works for me.
