  1. You know how some people put up those fake gold records that look like 45 rpm ones. Like Elvis Presley Hound Dog and such.

I found stick on CD/DVD hubs while looking to buy disks. Says there new, and I never heard of them before. Anyway looks like the center hub of a cas that holds the disk in. You peel the paper off the back and stick em to a wall or whatever. For use with working disks, but it got me thinking about coasters, since I probably would not want to hang a GOOD disk in the open like that!

So, you take your coasters and put em shiney (record) side out and get a nice prism effect. Or put a nice label on the coaster and stick it up for looks, like those gold records!

Since the disk is trashed anyway, you can print onto plain paper/photo paper or whatever you want. Then just cut that out and glue onto the disk!
No need to use an expensive label for a coaster

Couse those hubs are like 15 cents each, and for a coaster you could actualy just drill a tiny whole and use a screw for a penny
    Or double sided tape!

    It don't work anyway!

Or make reflective mobils and wind chimes with the coasters like we do with AOL disks!

  2. Every year in my area they have a Festival of trees A month before Christmas. Different decorate Christmas trees in whatever theme they want. They are then auctioned off with the money going to charity. One of the local music stores did a tree with cd's hanging from it, just some string through the hole to hang it up. But some of the ornaments appeared to be two discs stuck together printed side to printed side, and then they had holiday pictures painted on them. Wonder if they used aol discs for those? They probably had an ample supply of them at the store, just take them off the counter.

  3. I was thinking of making a coffee table out of all my coasters but then decided it was too much effort so some friends and me just had a big CD fight to get rid of them.

This year I hung coasters on some fruit trees I have in the garden, to keep the birds from eating the fruit. It worked.

Some animals are intelligent. I bet the birds thought they were AOL disks

  7. That coffee table Idea sounds like a good one to me

You seen those with the coins set into the table, the some goop like liquid acrylic is poored on. Gives the top a surface like a fancy bar at the beer joint. I bet that would make a great table with disks if it doesn't eat them and they still have the prisim effect afterwards.

Disks might melt in that stuff though, who knows?

    Foo,
That's a good Idea sort of, but onthe roof doesn't the sun eat them and turn them clear? The they act as a glass and magnify the heat

That might be a good use too though, make solar cells on them and attach in series to run a pc durring the day

I lived in the Piney Woods down there along time.
