  1. Ok guys....If you remember my buddy is in that film/production class and his new assignment is that he has to pitch an idea to "mtv" executives for a new show.

It can really be any type of show but we all know reality shows pretty much take the ratings. But remember this has to be a show you would see on MTV.

So if you had to make your own show or what not for an MTV audience what would it be? Does anyone have any suggestions or have they thought about shows in the past?

Let me know if you got anything. Thanks a million

Well, scantily dressed women normally works. Doesn't even really need any kind of theme then either. Oh yeah, MTV... Maybe it should have some music with it too :P

Sorry, lack of ideas is why I fix the equipment
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

  3. Well lets look at what MTV plays:

    1) R 'n' B (in other words crap)
    2) Reality TV
    3) Annoying DJ's (or the cool MTV word, VJ's)
    4) Weird Ads that are weird just so that they can be cool because they are different.
    5) Awards Shows, every day its a new awards show.

So lets see... if we mix them all together, how about this:

A bunch of up and coming R 'n' B artists (wearing bandanna's) are put in a house for 3 months in which they have rap wars every week to see who stays and who goes.

The show is hosted by a couple of annoying DJ's and the whole house is covered in product placement ads. The winner of the show gets to perform at like the Afghanistan MTV Music Video Awards.

Very creative...if your friend wants to get a laugh from the prof, I'd go w/ this idea.

    I actually like that idea.

Maybe move the whole show to Afghanistan, and have some Arabs join the competition.

Oddly, I find I can stomach reality shows (UK, not US) more so through the week than I can weekends.
Thinking about it I think it's due to my motivation at work; I wouldn't say my job is difficult, it's taxing and as a result when I get home need to unwind.
If it's with some idiot in a house with ten others, crying into a camera as to how x person has eaten all the bran flakes then so be it.
On a weekend I find I need some extra stimulation, and the tv schedule changes somewhat to that in midweek.
It's kinda' easy really, if you don't like these shows then don't watch them. I don't consider myself any different to anyone else and the conception that just because you watch these shows make you sub-standard is laughable, although I find the US shows too much to bear, they seem to be full of poeple with far too high an opinion of themselves. The UK ones (and I don't think we have too many, I can only think of Big Brother which I've enjoyed in the past) seem to be 'warts and all', rather than the US versions which have the best looking people and faultless mascara, lipstick and rock hard muscles.
Far from 'reality', in my opinion.

  7. I make a show about ten people that have to live in a house and learn how to burn VCD XVCD SVCD XSVCD CVD DIVX XVID DVD's and make DVD menu's. How to take a DVD-9 and get it to fit on DVD-5. The first week I would give them a old VHS tape to remaster to VCD that I bought off of ebay. Week two they have to record a made for TV movie and edit out the commercail's. Who can do it the fastest stay's in the house. Week three learn how to use TMPG and all the setting's. Week four learn how to use DVD2DVD. Week five they must find the best transcoder for full DVD back up's. Week six they must find the best DVD player for DVD back up's and SVCD VCD CDR back up's. Week seven find the best CDR'S and DVD-5 and DVD+R for play back on almost all DVD player's. Week eight shot some video and get it on the PC with a firewire card and encode a 30gig avi file to MPEG 2 NTSC and PAL. Week nine make DVD cover's and case's and label that do not stop when playing them in a DVD player. Week ten download the Star Wars Kid video raw film and make a new Star wars kid film. Week elevnin make a porn video with very ugly people. Week twelve make a website for the porn video and get people to download it from kazaa with viruses.

The winner will get a stupit editting job at MTV at 3:00AM when no watching any thing at that time for a show that will air at 3:30AM

    How about it. LOL

I don't care what the alleged theme of the show is, as long as there a lots of scenes with babes at the pool.
