  1. Hi, I have one maybe stupid question?

    I know that ADVC-100 have Viedo In/out.

If I dont have graphic card with TV out, will I be able to see edited file on TV, if my TV is connected on ADVC-100 Video out when I play that file?

    Or more simply:

Does aDVC-100 have real time preview on Tv of the files captured with ADVC-100 and edited ( I guess that is DV) or during preview in Adobe premiere, as Matrox RT2500 so I can see how my final product will lokk like?

    Thanks

I am using a ADVC-!00 and you can feed the DV file from your harddrive back to a tv monitor through the ADVC, at least using WINDV. You have to change the input selector, but it works fine. I like WINDV because it lets you preview the DV as it's being recorded to the harddrive. Of course you do have to use a firewire card to use the ADVC. I don't see much use to using a tv monitor during editing as I doubt it will look like the final project. The DV signal from the ADVC that WINDV shows is not exactly realtime as the refresh rate is a litle slow. The tv out on the ADVC-100 is really for outputing to a vcr for recording. I'm doing an encode on the computer it's connected to so I can't tell if it will output a monitor signal while it encodes, but I doubt it. I can tell you the ADVC-100 is the best system I have found to encode VHS to DVD.

  3. Hello there!!!
I am also one very happy customer of the Canopus ADVC-100!!!
If i understand you well you want the already finished project to be able to see it while you playback from the editing program e.g. Adobe Premierev6.5 or Pinacle Studio 8.x on tv.I was able to do it but you have to change the cables. The truth is it's the best analog to digital and vice versa!!!It's worth every single cent. One Big Thanks To Canopus for this awesome and magical "Box".
