Hello, I use studio 8 and I need some help, the problems I have is that I am making a DVD from some of my video footage. I was going to make an AVI and then covert it to Mpeg2 with TMPGnc then burn to DVD but, Studio 8 tell me it's to big(over 4gig) can I still convert it to AVI? and is there any reason why studio 8 only let you put one hour on a DVD when the DVD holds 120mims.
Thanks for all the help.

First of all, if you haven't already, log on to Pinnacle's Web Forums for Studio 8.. And if you're running any version previous to 8.5.21, update it.
Secondly, Studio allows longer than 1 hour files, I don't know where you're running into a 1 hour limit.
Lastly, why are you outputting an AVI and using TMPGnc? Studio8 does a fine job authoring DVDs. Its MPEG encoding engine is excellent.Philbiker -
tyoneXXl, when you go to create disk/dvd the default bitrate setting for Studio is 8000. you can change this to your liking in order to fit your project on a DVD also if you are using uncompressed audio you will be loosing some space for your video.
also like Philbiker says, you can complete your entire project within Studio. Just make sure you have everything the way you want it before starting your rendering & do this right before you go to bed (because it will take a while).
good luck. -
When you burn to disk, set it to automatic. This will allow for 1 hr+ burns. It will lower the video quality a little. I burned at 72% and got a 1 hr and 20 min disk with an excellent video picture.

Problem with Studio 8 on FAT (Win 95/98/ME)is that it can not create files over 4Gb because of the limitations with FAT. Unfortunately Studio 8 doesn't support the splitting of AVI's when using Make Disk to get around the problem.
If you update to Win 2000 or above this limitation is removed assuming you format to NTFS.
Hope this helps.
