  1. I have been doing succesful DVD-to-VCD conversions for awhile now on a Windows 98 machine and recently moved over to a XP box. (Was that a mistake?) My method has been Smartripper to DVD2AVI to TMPGEnc.

I was doing a copy of Hellraiser:Bloodline (not bad btw) and found that my MPG file was fine for about the first 10 minutes then it started to stutter (video glitches). It did this when I played the MPG file on the computer and when the VCD was played in my DVD player.

During the encode I had the screen saver/power saver turned off and wasn't using the computer for anything else.

So, did I do something wrong when I installed the software on the XP or does XP just bite for doing dvd-to-vcd encodes?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

  2. Ooops, guess I have a larger problem. I tried the same VOB and support files on the old Win98 and got the same results. I guess that's sort of comforting. Can I get bad VOB files on XP if I don't have the ASPI driver loaded? Smartripper said I didn't have it, but did the rip anyway.
