Sima Copymaster($30.) or Sima SCC ($100.) they eliminate macrovision. Your recorder also has digital copy protection but few if any VHS use digital, but the digital copy protection will prevent copying DVD's.

  3. Get the $30.00 dollar one the $100.00 dollar one has problem's. $30.00 dollar one DVD to PC VHS to PC VHS to VHS. The $100.00 dollar one only use it for DVD TO VHS. If you use the $100.00 dollar one DVD to PC the picture is jumpy.

If you go to Buckingham Palace and ask the Queen. Just kidding, You'll need a model that works witht the PAL UK format. Need some UK expert on where to buy.

All the original retail vhs tapes I tried to copy seem to contain the CGMS/A signal which prevents my e80 from recording the protected material. I use a cheapo digital video stabilizer similar to the one decribed here to remove the macrovision and a second vcr to strip the CGMS/A signal. This setup seems to work with the vhs tapes I tried.

  7. This device will remove both types of copy protection.
