Problems with my DVD burner

i have a sony dru-510a dvd burner when i install it on my computer it will detect it n it will show me wats in d cd or dvd rom but it wont let me install anything of the cd it works in my other cd burner but d software dat comes with d burner is only meant to be used on d sony drive but when i disable dma on d drive it works perfect but i have to enable dma again to burn other wise it will burn 2 slow can anyone help please.

What media? Not some cheap stuff I hope. Try a Sony disk.

i had a look at d irqs n theres no conflicts so i dont think its dat dats giving me d problem mayb it could b some other hardware and handy boy its got nuthing to do with d media.

can you install something else and see if that works? something like Nero.

jgandara I have tried to install all differen't kinds of software with my sony drive it just won't install, not only did I tried the sofware that came bundled with my burner but I tried other discs aswell and nothing will work unless I disable dma on the drive. can someone please help.
