  1. I talk to a friend of mine who beta testing for Pinnacle Instant Copy 8 and there is a bug in it. After installing IC8 NERO and Stomp Record Now MAX will not burn DVD's. My friend said if you unstall IC8 NERO and Stomp will work fine. IC7 had no problem's with NERO or Stomp for some wackey reason IC8 does not like NERO or Stomp.

I was going to order IC8 but I'm going to wait until there a demo to try out first.

  2. That's why it's called beta and that's the purpose of beta testing. You notice that IC8 isn't currently for sale? Guess why. YES! You got it! It's being - say it with me now - beta tested.

This is like people that talk about how much a movie is going to suck before they've even seen it.

  3. OldGuy100 are you blind. And who are you to say thank I have it. I do not have a copy of IC8. Yes I know that my friend has a beta copy he's beta tester. And this problem should not even be in a beta one. Second you do not know who I am and please do not cause me of being a bootlegger I'm not one. I pay for my software. Second you have not been on this board that long. Alot of us make friend's on this board and have other member's email and we help each other out with capture problem's and encoding problem's. But most of the help is on the forum. But I have made some friend's on this board. Do you have any friend on this board?

I'm blind? I never said you had a copy or that you were a bootlegger. What are talking about?

Yea, this is a great board. I've learned more about how to copy DVD's here than anyplace else. Congratulations on making some friends. I to have met some very helpful folks here. I've even managed to help some people. I didn't know that I had to be on this board "a long time" in order to know what I'm talking about. I'm a network and computer systems administrator. I've got more professional certifications than you can shake a stick at. So what? I know what I know and I ask for help when I don't know. Hard as it may be for you to believe it's possible that even a person that's new to this board could know what they're talking about.

One day maybe I'll have a problem that you can help with, and it could be that you may have a problem that I can help with some day.

spider dude! Calm down! Oldguy100 was not saying anything bad about you. Read between the lines??? You are being paranoid dude!!!

All he was saying is that these programs will be worked on in the beta testing period and the bugs will be worked out. I read his reply to you and he never "implied" anything negative to you.

This is a case of plain and simple "misunderstanding". Chalk it up to that.

Wow. You can read something between the lines that isn't even there. When I said "You got it!" that meant "You understand it." I honestly never even considered the possibility that you used pirated software, but now you're making me wonder.

it's nothing to worry about anyway as it can be fixed and Pinnacle are aware of the problem

IC8 & Nero now work together just fine for me after coming across this hiccup, you just gotta do a few simple things to fix it

some people may moan 'I shouldn't have to do this BLAH BLAH BLAH' but did I complain or cry about it?

Nope, I looked for an answer and now I see the reason behind why there is a conflict and accept the fact it's there but also accept there is a fix already anyway, so no problem in my eyes

and even if the problem is still there for certain users when it's released there is a solution but hopefully it won't be necessary

What did you do to fix this problem? I am having the same problem... Although it works fine with the latest version of CopyToDVD... Thanks!

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

  11. Both Instant Copy 7 AND 8 strip closed captioning information from source DVDs! Pinnacle is aware of the problem and "has not current plans to implement closed captioning in backups." Meanwhile CloneDVD, DVD2One and others retain closed captioning just fine. DVDShrink strips closed captioning, and the author is trying to fix it, but Pinnacle doesn't care!

I have many DVDs that have no english subs but DO have closed captioning, or the closed captioning simply looks better than subtitles (i.e. smaller and less obstructive of the screen). I often turn it on to decipher low volume dialogue, etc, though I'm not hard of hearing.

As far as I'm concerned, the lack of closed captioning retention makes Instant Copy useless, and a far cry from the "1:1 copy solution" they claim.
