  1. I am using the newest version of ATI's MMC and have a problem/question. I have created a new profile for my capture settings under the setup menu. But when I go to "Scheduling" and try to schedule a recording, it doesn't let me pick the profile setting I created. It only offers DVD, Good, and Longer. I need a dvd-compliant capture, but don't want the 8Mb/sec capture rate that the default DVD setting has. Any suggestions would be helpful. (I could have swore I could select any capture setting in previous versions). By the way, I'm using a AIW 9700Pro w/ MMC 8.5 . Thanks in advance.

    P.S. Also, when I set the One Touch Record for a specific time (3 hours), and I click on the record button on the console, it keeps recording (capturing) past 3 hours. Is the record button on the console not the "One Touch Record" button?

    I also have a problem and would like to stick to this post;

    When I choose "Schedule" at MMC 8.5, everything seems to run OK, the software starts at expected time and closes at expected time, but, when I go to the specified folder....THERE'S NOTHING THERE !!

    The folder is the same that I use for regular captures (no Schedule function), and it works on regular capture, but there's no capture neither error messages when I use "Schedule";

    I have searched the entire HD to find where the hell MMC saves the file, but there's NOTHING !!

    Any light ?

    Thnaks,

    Andre

    1. You need to set a preset. DVD, Good, Longer, etc, only appear as long as you don't replace a preset. Are you sure you're on MMC 8.5?
    2. You need to select the time function when recording, not just click the record button. Two steps involved.

  4. I figured out the problem. After making a new preset, I didn't close the 'Setup' menu, I just clicked on 'Scheduling', so the preset I made didn't show up. After reading your response, I went back into MMC, scheduling, and low and behold, it was there. Thanks! Also, I figured out the 'One Touch Record', I need to right-click on the console button and choose the recording option (time) I wanted. Thanks again, I'm set for the VMA's tonight.

  5. Ok, now I'm mad. I made sure everything was set to record the VMAs last night. Double-checked all my settings, including the source being svideo. Get home from work, and the damn thing captured 3 hours of TV Tuner, which I haven't nothing connected to it, so it was 3 hours of SNOW!!! Why did it do this? I know for a FACT I selected svideo input. I have another oppertunity to capture it again this weekend, so any help would be appreciated.

    I do this all the time.
    MMC is broken.
    If you want a sceduled capture, schedule it with a random
    preset, and then you have to go edit the schedule entry to
    set what you really want.

    Also if you capture with anthing other than an all ATI setting,
    the capture frequently won't start. I dunno how to fix that.
