  1. Recently I installed my new one Pioneer DVD-R/RW in my HP PC, the bay of the disk as the green light work well, but the unit does not read any DVD disk, even movies neither the blank Pioneer disks that I received with the unit.

The pc already have a Pioneer DVD player as a Master.

    What can I do?

    Tks,

Well I guess the first question that we ask is did you set this drive up correctly as a 'Slave'?. Your hard disk must be a master and you have said the DVD reader is a master so this one should be a slave.

Does the drive appear in 'My Computer' with an assigned drive letter?

Does the 'Device Manager' in 'System Properties' mention any problems with the drive or the IDE controllers.

Is the drive able to read CDs?

Is the green light on all the time or does it only come on when you insert a disk? (as it should do)

    Is the ribbon cable OK?

Try it as the master by disconnecting the reader cable and pugging it into the writer and changing the drive jumpers to 'master'.

You can also try uninstalling the device and let windows 'auto-detect' it again.
