    Hi
    A freind of mine has a hp 300i dvd rewriter and he ran his playing
    software for the 5 times and then his region locked. I told him to get dvd region free software so he now plays all regions ok. But dvdxcopy express
    only makes a backup of the region its locked on. Is there anyway around this or is the only way a firmware hack?

    DVD shrink will let you copy region free - and gives you more control over the video you want to copy
