  1. I have tried to burn a series of clips to a DVD, each about 20-25 minutes in length.

For some reason DVD Workshop combines all of the clips.

What I want to do is keep each clip as a chapter. Is there any way I can keep them separate? i.e. keep each clip as a separate chapter, so I can access each clip by pressing the chapter buttons on my standalone?

I have tried to use the Add/Edit chapters feature but that will only let me set chapters for each specific clip.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
    Yours,

I think you might be confusing chapters and clips.

If by "clip" you mean you have separate videos, then there is no need for "chapters" if you want to be able to just play each clip individually.

Chapters are mainly used as points within longish clips.

DVDWS will let you place a Play All button to play each clip in sequence from first to last as well as set links on a menu to select individual clips, in any order you choose.

    Hope that helps.

  3. In DVD workshop you have titles which are your individual clips and chapters within these titles. I have noticed that on some standalone DVD players the next and back buttons do not work for navigating to the next title, they only work with chapters. On other DVD players you can navigate the titles using next and back no problem. If you have a player that cannot navigate the titles with the next and back buttons create a simple menu to allow you to do this.

Yes, Craig said it better than I could. :c)

My player will play previous & next titles, so I did not realise some can't.

If you'd like the ability to go straight to, say just the 3rd clip (title) only, you could make a very basic menu with links to each title.

While building this menu, just right click on each title and on the pop-up menu go to After Play -> and choose Last Menu, rather than Next Title.

  5. Why don't you try tmpgenc dvd author. All of the different mpegs you import will be transposed to chapters on the completed dvd. There is a free 30 day trial also.

  6. I've also noticed some weirdness with clips when fast forwarding.
If I fast forward and it jumps a clip boundary, then my Apex-500W drops back to Play mode.
Other than that, a clip acts just like a chapter in my player, except that sometimes, it hangs when reading a +RW. But I feel this is more a problem reading the media since +R works perfectly!
Just what is this reality thing anyway?
