  1. I have 2 DVDs that were originally one 8Gig file that have been split to two 4.7Gig discs. What i want to do is put these two discs back as one disc using DVD shrink to resize to fit on one 4.7g discs. Is there anyway to do this, could i possibly copy the relivant VOB's from the second disc i.e VOB_01 renaming to VOB_5 leaving the original VOB's from disc one unamed creating lets say 8 VOB's then editing the IFO file to see these files. I've looked at the first disc's VOB's and know what's what menu and movie wise I also noticed that if you open one of the VOB's in media player it still lists 54 chapters rather than the 24 present actually on the first disc. i assume this is the info still retained even though it has been split. Sounds simple enough.

Captian, I thought you knew everything about DVDs now putting two of them onto a DVDR gives you hard times???

  4. @tompika...not to stir anything up..but I agree with you. I said the same exact thing to myself after reading Captain C's post. Reading their post yesterday ..it was very clear they were researching their info on the net and posting it as if they know WTF they were talking about....I almost challenged them on some things..but figured....nah....I don't wanna hurt anyone's feelings.

    They proved me right.

BTW: Anyone know how I can rip a DVD? Any programs out there that can maybe do something that advanced?

Do a guide search for VOBEdit and you should find guides on merging vobs (like from a 2-sided DVD or Episode DVD.) The basics are the same....merging VOBs under one VTS.
