  2. If try #1-3 is bad, and try #4 is good, AND you are not changing your process, the only thing that has changed is the disc.

Are they inexpensive? Do they work with your player?

    At 2x burn:
    4 x $1 disc = $4, and takes ~ 2 hours
    1 x $2 disc = $2, and takes ~ 30 min

  3. i'm using 4x ritek at the moment.sometimes the 'good' copy can be on really cheap media.i was wondering wether there were known problems with the software really.i like using both shrink and ic7 you see.sometimes i can spend 5 minutes get the most minute spec of dirt off the disk and the film still turns out bad.i'm running a matshita burner as well.are these any good?maybe its that.i always burn at 1x anyways.

  4. I have great luck with Ritek G4s. I have a pioneer 104.

    However, my opinion is:

    - If you burn the exact same authored movie and all don't work, but some do, it's the media.
    - The sw would more likely cause the movie to not play at all, or have macroblocks if the compression is too much or rotten.
    - Pixelation or Freeze is the disc

Finally, I think you need a combination of disc + burner to find what really works. I quick search for MATSHITA brings up some interesting threads.

    Cheers

Before we slam the Panasonic writers, mine works great! It's an old LF-D311 at 1x. And I've been using those K-hyper disks too. So I guess with that faulty drive and garbage media I should never be able to put out a disk that works, right?

Now it could be your player. It could also be that your writer is defective/broken. It could be that you media has been damaged.

Have you tried any of the so called "good" media? Apple, TDK, Maxxel, etc.? It might be worth buying one or 2 disks just to find out.

As far as the software, I don't use any of those, so I can't really comment.

But if you just decide to trash your writer, will you send it to me? I'll take it for the cost of shipping
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
