  1. Am having problems burning a DVD+R

Have converted a DIVX using guides available here, also followed the how to author a DVD using freeware tools guide and used Alcohol 120%, Nero 5, Nero 6, DVD Decrypter (all using ISO created via image tool classic) with no luck. DVD burned will work fine on My DVD rom with the PC but will not work on Playstation 2 or Wharfedale 750s

using NEC 1000a and windows XP and getting pretty peeved now.

  2. Not sure about your standalone but (each verison of ) the PSX2 is very picky about media and how you burn. It's possible that you standalone either can no read DVDR discs (or DVDRW discs) or it doesn't like your media.

Do you have a friend/family member you can test the discs out on? If it works on your PC then it's most likely the media/standalone that's the problem.

My PSX2 (v6) plays DVD-R UDF 1.02 or UDF 1.05, but my standalone ONLY plays UDF 1.02 (haven't tried 2.01).

  3. I have been using DVD+R. Am hoping to get some DVD-R to try soon as my NEC has firmware 1.1 and can burn DVD-R. Even printed on the sticker on the burner it is.

Thing is that many other people have been using DVD+R with no bother in the forums/guides. Both PS2 and my standalone can play what I assume to be DVD-R my friend burned for me.

  4. Just tried DVD X COPY Express to copy, sorry, backup one of my original DVD's and the backup works fine in my PS2 and my standalone using the same DVD+R's used previously.

I had followed the guides on this site to convert my .avi into DVD using the freeware guide to authouring and the tmpeg plus guide to converting. could I have gone wrong somewhere??

    This is making me so

  5. Out of curiosity I have just used DVD X COPY EXPRESS to copy one of the DVDs I had converted from a an avi. Surprised to see that the resulting copy actually works in a PS2 and standalone, while the original wouldn't. Could I have done something non-complient when following the guides and x copy has put right?

I have tried all ways to burn the DVD after authouring with ifoedit.

Could someone shed any light on what I could be doing wrong, or should I be asking this in a converting forum?

    Thanks
