    I have a Celeron-433 with 256 SDRAM. 20GB Quantum and 8GB Maxtor HD. I'm planning to get a Pioneer DVD-116 (or DVD-115).

    Someone told me it'll take over 15 hours. Is this true? Thanks!

    no, the ripping to HD takes 10-40 minutes. The time consuming part is the conversion to a different format. Most people convert DVD to VCD, SVCD or DivX.
