  1. I decided to try the CloneDVD trial. After eliminating the unwanted parts and after choosing which titles, audio, subtitles and menus you want is there a way to tell what the total size of your choices are before you click go to Create and Write them? I'm just wondering after removing the unwanted parts if it was enough to not need compressing.

THIS is one of the big weaknesses of CloneDVD. Olli has promised to put this stuff into later versions of the program. He originally wanted to shoot for a "true one-click" sort of approach, as idiot-proof as possible. But, much like CloneCD, he discovered that there were a lot of people that wanted this.

In the meantime, I've switch to IC8 (which isn't available to the general public yet although there is a *spit* ILLEGAL *spit* copy floating around the net as of late) which has the same feature (rebuilds IFOs after selective title removal) but also lets you pick ... no compression, high quality, etc. and shows you total sizes and whatnot.

The downside? IC8 is just as slow as IC7.

  3. Thanks, I searched on CloneDVD but found no total size info. It is a nice program though. And good as a burner. I had Nero on my old computer but trying to avoid installing on tis one if I can. But may need to if I wand simple SVCD ability.

I use RecordNow for simple burns now, but I keep Nero on hand since I move around a lot of .ISO, .BIN/.CUE, etc.
