What burner should I buy that is both - and +? Honestly which is the best for about $150? Thank you again.

NEC 1300A -
Don't know how good it is, but friday I bought an Optorite DD0203 for US$162.00 from Newegg.com. Comes with free shipping and a $10.00 gift. I orderd a free hat. Fed-ex tracking number says it shipped out today so I should get it tomorrow or the next day.

How about a sticky with the most often asked questions. With simple answers?
Neither format is really better,
Neither format is likely to die anytime soon.
Disks in both formats are close enough in price that it doesn't matter anymore unless there is a sale.
Etc..

Doing a search is good (often negleted though), but often does not work! I tried to search for something awhile back, all the words were 3 letters or less and rejected by the search engine
I need to buy more disks too, what brand is the most reliable now for the lowest cost and a quality place to buy them
I am thinking about 4x printables this time, though I don't have a printer yet, and my burner is a 2x. I do plan to buy a 4x burner and disk printer soon, might as well get the correct disks now. -
I must admit to being partial since I just bought the NEC-1300a less than 2 weeks ago.
MY experience in burning so far:
8 discs (2.4x Memorex) DVD +RW in data mode and dvd video and all were flawless.
4 discs (1x Memorex) DVD -RW in DVD data mode and DVD Video mode and all were flawless
2 discs (2x generic Pine brand) DVD -R to DVD Video and both work flawlessly.
No problems. Firmware 1.05 and have not yet upgraded until I find a good reason to do so.
My local stores had +rw on sale then later -rw followed by -R but the beauty is that I didn't care. Now they have the +R on sale so I might try a few.
Just a side note:
My Apex 700AD plays all formats so far but my Apex 600ad does not play the - or +RW format but I knew that already from my research.There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway. -
I'm going with the NEC-1300a. I figure for the price and for what I have heard about it, its a great deal.

I just bought my DD0203 from www.accupc.com for $154 free ship and will get it Thursday. I will post my story after I have tried it over the weekend
