  1. Hi all,
I have two SVCD's that I want to burn onto one DVD-R, how do I go about doing this so that both SVCD's play one after the other seemlessly.
I have a 30-day evaluation of DVD-lab but its not very intuitive.

Any help would be most welcome

  2. Ok..... now I prefer you make a menu and just add the 2 movies to it so you can select it... I rather not you make them SVCD raw file onto the dvdr since we dunno if your dvd player supports raw mpegs. If so then burn it as data, but please read the compatibility list..

As for the tutorial, its on the sitem not much help I can give you instead of just telling you to read the site, you'll find anything you need to do here.

  3. I don't want a menu system on the disk, I want to insert the disk and the film will automatically play followed immediately after by the second film. A bit like a very large SVCD, put the disk in and watch.
There doesn't seem to be any tutorials that fit what I want to do.

  4. ok the best thing for u to do is, join the 2 mpegs and make one large one. u can do this via tmpeg. go to the mrge and cut selection and put both ur mpegs in there. but one thing!! as the other person mentioned, does ur dvd player play plain mpegs??? cause u might need to convert them to dvd's
kinda new to this he he

  5. My DVD player will play plain mpegs, but the I'm making the disk as a present for my brother, and I have no idea if his player will play plain mpegs. So making the disk as a psuedo DVD would be best I think.

Unfortunately your SVCDs are encoded with
a resoliution of 480 x 480 and the audio has
    a sample rate of 44100.

    DVD needs 720 x 480 video and 48000 audio.
You have to re-encode the files

  7. Isn't it possible to just put all the files from the two SVCD's onto the DVD-R and alter them slightly so that there's no stopping inbetween the videos. His player does play SVCD's, I'm just not sure about plain mpegs.

  8. If I were to do this I would first combine the two files into one with TMPGenc mpeg tools or mpeg2vcr and then use SVCD2DVD to author it.

I Have never used SVCD2DVD, so you might check if it supports adding multiple SVCD mpegs and then you could skip combining them

  9. It depends on the DVD player. Many DVD players _will_ play SVCD files. I have a Daewoo 5700,a nd it plays any SVCD I burn to DVD, even highly non-standard ones. But your brother's DVD player might not play SVCD files.
To avoid using a menu, set the first mpeg file as first play. To make both files play seamlessly, link the first meg file to the second mpeg fileafter you import both of 'em into DVDLab. Various tutorials on DVDLab can give you more detail on how to link one file to the next so they play one another the other withotu interruption.
Even if you transcode your SVCD files into DVD format MPEG-2, your borther's DVD player still might not play a DVD-R. There's just no way to be sure. For instnace, if he owns an Apex, you're hosed.
