I have only just started to use SVCD2DVDMPG and I am having a couple of problems
First I used DVD2SVCD to convert XVID & DIVX to SVCD and then use SVCD2DVDMPG to convert them so that I can burn 2/3 films onto one DVD. Everything works OK, except I end up with a small picture with large borders when playing on my Widescreen TV. IF I burn the output from DVD2SVCD onto CDR's the picture size is fine.

Second, I can't always use the menu option, although after reading a couple of other threads that might be because I am using more than two VTS, it has worked OK, both times with only two VTS, so it sounds right.

    Any help would be appreciated

Menus: on the current release you can only have 2 menu items. That will change v. soon

The other issue sounds like a DVD player compatability issue. Can you try a freinds dvd player to see? Can you adjust the output from the dvd player?

I can zoom the image but it gives a 4:3 ratio rather than 16:9, I have a Wharfdale 750s, old but it plays anything. I have tried on friends DVD and it is even worse, the picture is split 2/3 on one side and the opposite third on the other side giving a split screen, not sure what player he has.
I amin the middle of encoding after changing picture size in DVD2SVCD and will report on outcome

    Hi m8

I am also having this problem on my machine with the 2/3 and 1/3 across the screen.

The disc I burned worked on my mates machine so looking for any suggestions as to what to do.

I had a bin/cue file which I ran thru isobuster to get an mpeg file I then ran this thru SVCD2DVDMPEG+ and burned the resulting image on dvd. Looking for any suggestion of what else to try.

I used isobuster because the first time I tried running the bin/cue files atright thru SVCD2DVDMPEG+ I got a lot of crackling on the sound track, also used the 2 pass for audio to try to make sure, audio is now fine.

Just had another go after resizing within DVD2SVCD still the same large border around the picture. This time I had two SVCD's which were both the same and a VCD which covered the full screen. When I loaded the info into DVD-Lab it said that both the SVCD's were 4:3 even though I had selected 16:9 from the drop down menu. I am now going to try and encode both AVI's firstly with TMPGenc as VCD and see what the output is like, then using DVD2SVCD as anamorphic to see if that makes a difference. I would prefer tro keep the SVCD format but not in the format that it is coming out in

Again any suggestions would be welcomed

The VCD's were all full screen and I friend who has two new and one old DVD's has told me that the picture is perfect on the two new DVD's , but the same as mine on the old one

Looks like time to buy a new DVD standalone player

  7. Ok 2 tips:

    1.
I am also having this problem on my machine with the 2/3 and 1/3 across the screen.
Then your machine doesn't play svcd at all or doesn't play svcd-dvd
    2. i have no problems with dvdlab if i encode the svcd in tmgpenc as 16:9 it tells me it is 16:9 SVCD and works fine on dvd. You don't need to patch the header if you import to dvdlab.

So i suggest you try encoding with TMPGEnc cause that works great for me.

    Greatings,
    Yf

You could try Pan & Scan fix if you have the 1/2, 2/3 issue.

Went to the computer fair yesterday and bought a new DVD player, nothing special £59.99 and plays everything.

The picture on this is perfect, so it was my old Wharfdale that was creating the problem, thanks to those of you who offered suggestions
