  1. Hello!
Anyone had a problem with freezing screen and sound and know how to solve this?
I read another post which said ot turn the DVD off and then on again but I'm not sure that's a permanent solution. I had mine unplugged 1 week ago as I moved it to another room and this is the first DVD I play since. And it freeze.

What happens is that the picture freeze and the sound stops but the DVD keeps spinning. If it's frozen for 10 seconds and then starts it means I missed 10 seconds of the movie. Each stop is between 10-120 seconds and watching such a movie is worthless.

I have this on most DVD's and I belive it's in some way related to the disc itself since it tends to freeze on the same spot.
First time it occured was on "Pitch Black", and always on the same place, which I returned to the retailer and the new DVD of the same movie worked just fine.
And a DVD that freeze on my region-free Hitcahi DVP505-E will always play smoothly on my computers DVD player.

If I do a "search" (FF or REW so to speak) past a freeze it will skip minutes ahead (or back) as it reaches the freeze-spot.

That's as good as I can describe it. I don't understand since it's a fairly new (3 yrs?) player of good (?) quality that should run for a few more years atleast.
I'll gladly answer any follow up questions if that can solve my problem.
