I purchased a Pioneer DVR AO5 drive for my 733mhz G4 Quicksilver and can't get it to burn DVDs and CDs properly. The eject button doesn't work from time to time, CD/DVD icons on the desktop can disappear, and the system can "hang". But it does play DVD videos fine.
Reinstalled the CDR/RW drive that came with my mac and all was fine again.
I am running OS X 10.2.6, Toast 5.2.1, The drive is set as master, and the firmware seems to be up to date. Apple System Profiler says Fully Supported.
When burning from iDVD 3.0 it wouldn't even show the burnt DVDs icon on reinsertion. Did show menu but no video in my xbox.
