  1. What are the best 5 songs that you have ever heard?

    I'll start off with mine:

    #5 - Me First And The Gimme Gimmes - I Believe I Can Fly
    #4 - Green Day - Time Of Your Life
    #3 - Blink-182 - Carousel
    #2 - Rancid - Radio
    #1 - NOFX - The Seperation Of Church And Skate

    Some of these are pretty new but I can't stop listening to them.
    I'd like to see what everyone elses favourites are.

    Agree with Greenspock, Anything by Pink Floyd. Although "watch that axe Eugene" is a little strange. Pink Floyd's Dark side of the moon is easily the best album ever produced by any artist at any time.

    Also anything be Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix.

    Smashing Pumpkins: Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
    Tool: Undertow
    Garbage: Garbage
    Coldplay: Rush of blood to the head.

    It's too hard even to come up with a top 100 really, let alone a top 5... but i think i'll give this a spin. In two parts. First let me see if I can remember what the list roughly was last time I gave this a spin.

    Can't give numbers as they were all on a level pegging, but at the very least there was
    * The Offspring - Gone Away / Staring at the Sun
    * Skunk Anansie - Twisted

    and from there I need to do a google to see if the webpage my list ended up on still exists
    these are all probably a bit shallow

    Possibly
    * Birdhouse in your soul / Istanbul - They Might Be Giants
    * Aquiesce / Champagne Supernova - Oasis
    * One for the Road - Ocean Colour Scene
    * Love Spreads - Stone Roses
    * Dry County / Runaway - Bon Jovi
    * FEELINGCALLEDLOVE / I Spy / Acrylic Afternoons / She's a Lady - Pulp
    * Clover over dover - Blur

    most likely ones bolded... but even so, at least two of those have to die... damn... so hard trying to filter out what CDs, songs, mp3s have come and gone since.

    Back soon!

    Nope. Google sucks. Ah foo.

    Well just make it a general list of decent tunes then.

    * Girl from Mars / Angel Interceptor - Ash
    * Stress - Jims Big Ego
    * Street Spirit - Radiohead (screw the modern stuff, those boys need some valium. no, screw that - a truck full of prozac. NOW.)
    * A few Wierd Al gems
    * Flossie's Alarming Clock / etc etc etc - Cuban Boys
    * Immigrant Song / etc - Led Zep (afraid I have to bow to the infamous NO STAIRWAY rule here )
    * Girl inside my head / Secret Agent Man - Blues Traveller
    * Right Now / Aint Talkin' Bout Love - Van Halen
    * Mmm Skyscraper I Love You - Underworld (particularly the more housey remix done by some MOD artist in the mid 90s, that recently cropped up in the background of Bing And Bong Tiny Planets )
    * F-f-f-falling - The Rasmus (for a finnish pop band who i have only heard this one song from, I like them far too much)
    * Several bits and pieces of soundtracks to Studio Ghibli animes and old 80s cartoon shows.
    * A Brief History of Time - Mad Max / International Karate Plus - David Whittacker... and other bits of in game techno or loveliness from an age when a CD soundtrack was a novel thing, and both the CD audio and the accompianing MIDI translation / soundchippery were done with skill and love rather than being knocked up (eg - Tempest 2000).
    * lalalalala....
    * Its far too early in the gd*am year for this .... need to dig thru CDs for some classics. Prob is I could easily go thru my collection and pick out every other disc as having a bona fide classic tune and of course that written above is coloured by what i've heard recently

    anyone else like these?

  11. Hmm I dont know if these would be my top 5 but these are some of the best I can think of at the moment:

    1) Metallica - Hero of the Day
    2) Deep Blue Something - Breakfast at Tiffany's
    3) SR71 - Right Now
    4) Blues Traveller - Run Around
    5) Kiss - God gave rock and roll to you

    In no particular order

  12. Ozzy - Dreamer
    Ozzy- Mama I'm coming home
    Nerf Herder - Pervert
    POD - Youth of the nation
    Linkin park - Crawling: remix
    ..are good songs, but...

    Few songs stand the test of time...
