  1. I find a lot of people getting told "Hey, read the forum rules before you post"

I don't believe I read these rules before I started posting way back when. I also don't recall someone telling me "Hey, read the forum rules before you post"

I just can't believe people would come to this site (forum) or any site for that matter and post things about Warez, cracks, Illegal downloads or post multiple posts and think it OK.

These rules should go without saying yet, even though they are listed, people still do it.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  3. Personally, I think that the rules are only here because of advertising. If this site had stuff on it that would be considered illegal, then the government would have beef with this sites advertisers, and they in turn would pull the plug on funding dvdrhelp.com. Thus, without rules there would be no dvdrhelp.com. Through this principal is how television worked decades ago (thus, we usually didn't see any innuendo).

I would have though that, with or without advertisers the goverment would pull the plug.

    Interesting.

I believe what Marco33 meant was that IF "this site had stuff on it that would be considered illegal" (as per g_shocker182's comment) then government would pull the plug regardless (this was Marco33's main point) of existance (or non-existance) of any advertisers, with their help or not. He was just pointing out that government would shut down any site with illegal stuff on it wether it had any advertisers or not. I hope this makes sense.
