  1. I don't want to use pens (too crude), or labels (too dangerous). I don't want to pay £76 for a CD printer just yet.

    Would this work instead? :

Use a child's printing Kit (with little blocks for the letters), to stamp your own crude text direct on an injkject printable disk. I had such a kit years ago. Got it from a stationers. Looked 'punk' or arty, but better than my handwriting.

QUESTION: Now, what I need to know is, would the ink from such a kit be liable to damage the *inkject printable* DVD's I've ordered?

Awaiting replies (especially from DVD pro technicians/ manufacturers), with interest.

    Thank you.

How long is a piece of string?
Pretty difficult question to answer if you don't at least give the manufacturer of the printing kit.

By the way, I personally think it would work fine, but what do I know

  3. Sounds to me you're trying to put a square peg into a round hole. I just label my discs and they all work fine. I recently bought an Epson 900 printer so from now on I just print directly to my DVDR.

I personally use hub labels. Safe, because they get no where near the recorded portion of your disk. How can they mess up what they cannot touch?

I had to read this thread because I didn't think there was anything cruder than the Sharpie.

Kid's ink? Isn't that stuff water-based? If so, it'll smudge at any time, even because of sweat. Don't think I'd like that.

Where can I buy hub labels? I've NEVER heard of them, and a quick search turned up nothing (so far at least, but I'll keep trying).

Click here. They are used by Surething software, which I also use for my case labels.

  7. I made a long and detailed reply, but the board re-asked me for my password, and dumped my post.

I'm buying a CD printer. Thanks for the replies.

  8. The hub labels look cool, but I have no problem with regular labels...
