I have posted this before, here and there, with not much help. I feel what I want to do is simple, I just have no clue how.
I rip my DVDs to HD, as usual. But I would love to add a small vob, mpg or even jpg image that shows right before the main movie or menu shows. Just as a way to tag my DVDs with a more personal flare.
Is there a way I can simply throw it into the DVD directory and maybe edit the ifo file to play it first? I am pretty good at ripping and burning, but have no idea how to edit the ifo's and such. So please tell me if this is even a possibility.
Thanks so much to anyone that can help.
oh, and if possible, I am trying to avoid having to re-encode the files or re-author what I've ripped, just to make a quick and easy process. That's why I was mainly interested in the IFO idea.
Thanks again.

Damn, 26 views and nothing. I guess no one can help.
I have seen topics similar to mine posted also. They, too, go unanswered. The person who could help us out with this would have much admiration and a world of thanks.
PLEASE... anyone..... help. Thanks in advance. -
Please post questions regarding dvd to dvd in our dvd to dvdr forum. I'm moving this one.

I have an untested idea for you. If you already have a dvd compatable mpeg, author that by itself. The output should be a small collection of vob file. Simple rename the VTS_01_0.ifo,.vob,.bup to VIDEO_TS.ifo,.vob,.bup respectively. Keep that in a folder by itself.
Rip the DVDs as usual but replaced the VIDEO_TS (vob, ifo, bup) with your personal ones.
It is possible that you may need to use IfoEdit to rewrite vob ids. I use the guides here to find my way through ifoedit.
I have wanted to do the same thing but do not know if I can just replace the files & burn or if the files need some re-writing. I haven't tested it myself since I haven't made the intro I want yet.
Post me how this works for you if you test it. -

This is one way you could it.
Author a short clip in IfoEdit. Delete the VIDEO_TS.IFO files and rename the VTS_01 files to the last titleset in the movie folder +1. So if the last titleset was VTS_03 then rename the files VTS_04_x.xxx. Move these files into the movie folder.
Now we have to tell the VIDEO_TS.IFO file that a new titleset has been added and to start the DVD with it. To do this, open the VIDEO_TS_.IFO file with IFOEdit.
1) Click VMG_VTS_ATRT and change the Number of Video Title Sets to the value + 1.
2) Click VMG_PTT_SRPT and change the Number of Title play Maps to value + 1.
3) Refresh the page and enter the following to the last title at the bottom of page:
Title plalyback type = 20
Number of chapters = 1
Title set number (VTS#) = result of step 1
Title set Title-number (VTS_TTN) = 1
4) Click VMGM_MAT/First Play PGC. Right click on 1.Pre Command and choose edit command
5) Select (Jump_TT)Jump to Title, Title Nr: = result of step 2
6) Click save then Get VTS sectors.
The next steps are to go to the movie menu after the intro plays.
7) Open the last VTS_.IFO file/VTS_PGCITI/VTS_PGC_1
8) Right click on There is no PGC Command Table, select Add PostCommand, right click on 1.Post Command/edit and select (CALLSS_VMGM)Call VideoManager Menu, Menu = Title, Resume Cell: = 0
9) Save file
BTW, the intro clip can have multiple audio and subtitle tracks. If you want to return to the intro without ejecting the disk, choose the last title with the remote.
Hope this helps

If you are looking for a PRE-MENU clip (like XYZ Productions Presents) Then the menu, you can use DVD Movie Factory. Make that clip first in the line and click the box that says First CLip as First play ...
Thats how I do my Business Logo.... -
