  1. I'm just starting out... trying to make VCD's of a movie called Great Teacher Onizuka.

Currently GTO is in AVI format.

Word across the dozen VCD intrtuctions is that you gotta turn things to MPEG first, before you can burn to VCD. I wager the burning will be a trial within itself, but right now's the first step.... Conversion.

I got just about every converter known to man. EO Video's the prettiest and the one I'm asking about.

    Here's what I do:

    Open FILE.

    Drag to the far right.

    Click bottom tab CONVERTER

    PROFILE BUTTON:
    Output Format: MPEG
    Compression: VCD
    TV Format: NTSC

    OUTPUT BUTTON:
    Set Folder
    Name File

    COVERTER BUTTON:
    Click START

    Then I see:
    Ready..
    Initializing EO Converter/Joiner engine (v.1.36)...
    Converter to: C\:MyStuffnJunk\GTO.mpg
    Converter/Joiner engine closed.

Somewhere in there I'll see the video spring up for a nano-second... one frame. It'll click off and I'll get the above final message.

Alright, Converter Masters..... what am I doing wrong?

  3. Currently working with TMPGEnc right now... first step was getting Virtual Dub to work, which after four days of wrestling... it's actually working.

Next.... wrestling with error messages in TMPGEnc itself...
