Hey. I get the feeling lots of people have been asking about this before.. there's just no way noone's thought about this before

My question, if my DVD player isn't capable of playing mp3 files burned on a cd-r, wouldn't it just be possible to multiplex a file from a still picture with really low bitrate (so it takes no space) and an audiofile, to an mpeg-file, and burn it as a non-standard VCD?

And then, my player would play these files .. hm? Any better ideas?

the audio would have to be an .mp2 file.

you can't make a dvd player that won't play mp3 disks play them any other way, it would have to have a codec.

but yes, you can take an audio file, encode it as vcd or svcd audio quality and then mulitplex it with an encoded mpeg of a still picture.

i've done this but i dont multiplex, i just encode vcd compliant all at once ince tmpg can open jpgs.
