Opto gold top 1X

I keep hearing about how good the Opto gold top 4X is good. Has anyone try the gold top 1X that Rima.com is selling?

theyre ok... i tried a 50 pack and had about 5 dvd's with bad sectors....
i run nero and kprobe on them...
ill scan with my lite on, and if they show bad sectors ill scan again with my toshiba....

I also ordered 50 and have had 3 with bad sectors out of the 30 I have burned. I do burn them at 2x so I'm sure that is not helping but I have never had a failure with burning 2x with Riteks or Bealls.

What does the bad sector do? Do they completely make the DVD useless or just skip and freeze at certain part of the movie?

I only have 1 or 2 bad sectors in the 3 bad discs. They will all play to the end of the movie but freeze for several seconds at the bad sector area of the discs. I tried to rip them onto my hard drive to reburn but the bad sectors can not be read when ripping.

If you burn 2x be prepared for a 10% failure rate with these discs.
