Can't play original DVD on my cpu but can on standalones!!
------------------------------------
Hello!
I have a original DVD that can be played perfectly on all standalone I have tried, but yet cannot be read on any drive of my computer (DVD reader/writer).
The reason could be about the index of the DVD (cpu reads that but standalone doesn't)... ?
Is there a way to copy that DVD? A patch or program that would let my cpu read the dvd or bypass the index or copy directly?
Thanks a lot.

Hey
-
What program are you using to try to play your DVD?
Hello. -
Its real one player...
but anyway the dvd doesn't load at all.. I tried with another dvd and it works fine.
the dvd simply doesn't LOAD...Hey -
i tried those... its the dvd not my cpu... i tested with other dvds and the dvds loads.... right now when i put the dvd the loading light is always on but nothing happens. In 'My Computer' the dvd name doesnt appear either. DVDDecryptor doesn't recognize the dvd (only this one)... anyone had the same problem?

we assuming that you have win dvd or power dvd on your computer
because real one won't play your dvds
if it not installed
real one need 3rd party software to play dvds -
i cannot even c the files of that dvd when accessing the drive. When trying to explore the drive it says please insert a disc when the disc is in the drive (and i tested with an other dvd and it works fine). The dvd is region 0, could that be the problem?

we need more details
what kind of dvd-rom, dvd-writer do you have?
what kind of dvd playing software or operating system?
is this just one dvd that's not playing
or all of them
give as much detail as possible
so we can try to help you -
Several possible problems:
1) Can you play other DVDs on your PC?
2) If not do you have a MPEG2 codec installed on your system?
3) Do you have a DVD-ROM drive (not just a CD-ROM drive)? -
yes to all those questions. like said above I tested with other dvds and it works fine.
My dvd reader is Pionner 8X and my writer is LG 2X DVDRW and 10X READ.`I have Windows Me and I have WinDVD to play dvds.
The dvd i try to play is region free, it cames in a 2 set box. THe first disc I easily made a copy but the second isnt loading on my cpu (but is on any standalone dvd player -tested on a toshiba and koss readers). -
just a guess
but maybe that dvd doesn't have macrovision on it
some versions of windvd won't let you play discs that doesn't have macrovsion on it as they used to didn't supported dvd copying
and if you weren't online you could bypass that but if you play the non encrypted dvd while the computer is online it wouldn't let you play that certain dvd anymore -
Umm... the "region free" is a tipoff here.
Do other "region free" DVD's work in your computer? Perhaps your drive is NOT set to "region free", and therefore is choking on this disc?
