I wanted to know how or what utilities everyone uses in order to monitor your computers temperatures. Anything that can tell you if you should add another fan or something. I wanted to know since I may add another fan to move heat away from my graphics card but I was hoping that there may be a safe utility that can give me a rundown of how well heat is being dispersed in my computer. Any suggestions??

    As seen in :https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=168319

the monitoring software is called Mother Board Monitor, or MBM and can be found here http://mbm.livewiredev.com/

I'd also check your motherboard manufacturer's website. MBM didn't work very well for my Tyan board but Tyan makes a monitoring software for their own boards that allows things like a shutdown in the event that the CPUs get too hot.

If you're looking for hardware monitoring get a DigitalDoc5. They're kind of a pain to install with all the wires going all over (it can control 7 fans and monitor 8 temp sensors wherever you place them in your case). It takes up a 5.25" bay and has a LCD screen to display temps and fan speeds (it also monitors your 5v and 12v voltages). They run about $45, but I got mine on sale for $30. I got it so that when I'm playing a game or editing video I don't need to switch to a software monitor and risk messing something up. I put a flat thermo under each CPU, one on the GPU heatsink, one near my main intake fans to compare ambient temps, one just past the HDD cage, and the other three displaces here and there to monitor temps in different places so I can see how well the air flows through my case. Pretty cool device if you can handle running all those wires. I also got it since it controls 3-wire fans and will tell you if a fan is starting to go bad. Check it out here:

  5. I have an Intel Motherboard which come with a utility called Intel Active Monitor. This utility gives me all the information I want including temperature, fan speeds, volatges, etc. But I suspect that it works with Intel montherboards only.
