I created the template with no problems, verified that the Steam type is MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard) but file is still too large when I try to use Nero to burn it onto a 80 minute CD-R. Any help would be welcome.

  2. 1) how big is the file?

    2) you're burning as VCD, right?? not as DATA CD....

nero's (S)VCD templates using mode 2 burning allows you to fit nearly 800 MB onto an 80-min CD-R

  3. Just to let you know there is a version of TMPGEnc that had a bug in it, where even if you lowered the bitrate to create an XVCD the filesize would not decrease. I think it was version 2.59.

it needs to be under 800 MB.... unless you overburn...you can never fit 833 MB on a 80-min CD-R. even overburning may only add 20 MB at most.

My version is 2.59, and no matter what I change the bit rate to, the file size does not change. I will try a newer version. Thanks for the help!

Video size at 833mb will fit on a cd with overburning won't it ? or have I been overburning all these years without realising it ?

  8. @hardcoreruss,

seems so......mode 2 burning to (S)VCD w/o overburning fits max 800 MB on 80 min CD-R. subtract the overhead, and you're left with about 796 MB.

    -----------------

btw, just making sure...but you sure you have 833 MB file?? 833,000 KB isn't the same as 833 MB....

    just double-checking..... :P
