  1. I've read all the guides and a lot of posts and spend hours and hours trying, but I've got to the point when I just don't know what I'm doing.

I have used TMPEG and VDub to try and do frame rate conversions and change the length of the audio with besweet, cool edit pro etc. but I my audio is always out of sync and gets worse throughout the film.

I have also tried converting to a normal mpeg2 file and things are fine, but when authoring elementary streams with IFOEdit I get jerky playback if the audio is synched. I'm completely stumped! What should I do about the non-standard size for the avi? not sure how to sort that out. I use VDub as a frame server as in the guides.

I have used another of the guides to use TMPEG to do all the conversions and with this the audio is fine, but every second has the movie run too fast then pause while the audio appears to be synched periodically.

Sorry to ask questions that have been asked before, but I am not getting anywhere with the guides. Could some kind person give me a noddys' guide to doing this conversion please? Thanx everso much!

For some stupid reason, my guide doesn't show up in the Guides section of this website. The link is in my signature. I've had newbs PM me saying they liked it and it helped them a lot.
My AVI -> Any Format Guide is available here.
My Frame Resize Calculator (enhanced for Virtualdub) is available here
