I am capturing with an ATI AIW Raedon 9000 with MMC 9.1 on an XP.
I have captured directly with the built in DVD setting since the SCHEDULER program will not allow you to use Custom capture settings.
However -- none of these captures (which are WAY TOO BIG -- 3.4 Gig for 1 hour) can be opened in TEMPGEnc.
Am I doing something wrong? Is it ATI's capture format??
All I want to do is burn some TV shows to DVD so I can watch them at a later date -- but 1 DVD per 1 hour of show is insane.
Thanks!
Kev

I have the AIW Radeon 7500 and Guide Plus allows me to use my custom settings. Do you have the latest ATI and Guide Plus software installed?
You should be able to change all four of the pre sets to whatever you want and they will then show up in your Guide Plus program when you go to record. -
It looks like you captured MPEG-2 at 8000 kbps or so. TMPEGEnc cannot open MPEG-2 files directly. You need to use DVD2AVI first to create a PROJECT file for the video segment of your file which can then be input to TMPEGenc for re-encoding. Look up the DVD Ripping/Reencoding guides on this site or doom9 for details.
Good luck.
