Sony DRX-510UL -external model - same as DRU-510a ?

Hi all,

I was going to buy the new Sony DRU-510a, but notice that Ecost now has this model from sony on special: The Sony DRX-510UL, it **seems** to be the same model as the DRU-510a, - except it's an external model that is both USB 2.0 and Firewire cabable.

Since I have a few computers, I thought this might be the way I wish to go.

I would appreciate any comments, or help with this one,

If you decide to go for the external model, use the firewire connection instead of the USB2 connection. many people have had problems burning to -r disks under USB2.

thanks for the info.

I went ahead and ordered the internal model afterall, didn't want to take the chance... I have a few external fw and usb2 hard drives and they don't always work exactly right all the time, and thought because so many more have bought the new Sony internal model, that was the way to go.
