  1. Hey,
I am newbie when it comes to capturing video. What is the best USB card for the money. And is there anything else that I need to look into. What I am looking to do is capture ballgames from the TV to a laptop, and burn them to DVD. Here is what I have to work with.

    WinXP
    P4 2.66GHz
    60 GB
    512 266MHz
    32MB ATi Mobility Radeon 7500

    Thanks

Ah, a trick question! USB capture devices get a bad rap here. Why not check out a PCI device over in the "capture cards" section?

  3. Ah, but I have a laptop, I dont think I have a PCI slot to use.

What is the best way for me to go about doing real-time capturing?

  4. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, but I would prefer quality results to a cheap deal. I would be willing to spend up to ~ 150, maybe a little more.

If I have a laptop, what connection method options do I have? What is needed to use a firewire capture device?

  5. Well, I do have a firewire port.

Would I be better off with a firewire Capture Card/DV Converter or a USB2 Capture Card/MPEG1/MPEG2?

Im not too worried about HDD space. Can purchase a separate external later if need be.
